Came here with my son (26) for his birthday weekend. I had ordered an ice cream cake and all of his friends came out for the party. As the four of us ate the cake, my son received his birthday gifts: a Sony 8mm video portable player, an 8mm tape of the movie So I Married An Axe Murderer, DVD collection of Diagnosis Murder and a $15 gift card to JP Licks on the cow card and $15 in single dollar scratch tickets.

Wolfie (his former roommate) joined us and was angry that my son keeps kosher now. Wolfie brought along one of his friends from the chat rooms. This seemed to annoy everyone. The friend also didn't eat any of the gummy bears on the cake, claiming to be vegan and yet eating ice cream. I questioned Wolfie on his poor choice of companionship and he flew into a rage, accusing my son of a romantic tryst and generally making little sense. Worse, he began to badmouth our family and generally act like an absolute idiot. I asked him to leave. He did.

The cake was delicious and we had a lot of fun drinking coffee and tea and eating the ice cream. At my request the staff played the song Breakfast at Tiffany's.

The party was in full swing when Wolfie returned. He was asked to leave again but insisted on staying. I knew how to handle this and pulled out a wad of $20 dollar bills. I gave one to every guest and told them to simply disregard Wolfie. He became enraged at being ignored and began to cry. At this point my son stepped in and took him outside. After less than a minute my son came back in and I could see that he had a large scratch across his face. He wouldn't talk about it. Now it was time for his surprise. A box appeared and he was presented with a working Nintendo Famicom Disk System unit as well as a series of disk software for the device. I had the unit imported from Japan and refurbished. He was delighted with all of his gifts and I wish his birthday hadn't been sullied by the series of attacks by Wolfie. Tomorrow I am taking him to see the 1988 Penny Marshall movie Big.

4 stars.
